At a toast in honor of the New Year in the soon to be completed AMC Emergency Room, senior AMC management and financial staff presented key Ashdod municipal figures an update on building progress. Professor Avraham Ofek, AMC Project Manager, presented Dr. Yechiel Lasri, the mayor of Ashdod with a detailed account of the current floor-by-floor completion and timetable for the opening of AMC for the benefit of the greater Ashdod public. He described the community programs and medical services that AMC will offer and the cutting-edge diagnostic and medical equipment that will be available in order to raise the health status of the local citizenry. Professor Ofek reiterated AMC’s gratitude for the continued material and policy support the Ashdod municipality has granted to this vital project. Mr. Nachman Widislavski, the Director General of Refuah Ve'Yeshua, the organization responsible for ensuring the funding for the project, clarified the current monetary situation and his positive projection for the near future.
Mayor Lasri, himself a physician and former hospital department head, expressed his enormous enthusiasm for the project and his sincere thanks for the continuing efforts by AMC project staff on behalf of the greater Ashdod citizenry. It is his sincere hope that the coming year will see the launching of AMC as the central focus for all health concerns in Ashdod
